Arizona Takes Legal Action After Biden Tried to Cut Off Funding for Political Reasons

( – The Biden administration doesn’t like when others don’t follow their rules. Evidence of that comes in the form of a recent threat Biden’s treasury issued to the state of Arizona. The state’s governor fired back at the Biden administration, taking legal action against the president’s Treasury Department.

Biden’s Treasury Department is pushing to take back COVID funding from Arizona because the state is funding districts without mask mandates. Governor Doug Ducey (R-AZ) and the state’s Attorney General Mark Brnovich are standing up to the bullying tactics from Biden’s administration, announcing a lawsuit against the Treasury Department.

The department sent a letter to Arizona on January 14 detailing how the state’s programs have undermined guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to reduce COVID-19 transmission. The letter claimed that Arizona only had 60 days to comply with their wishes and redirect its funding. If the state failed to meet the requirements, the Treasury Department would attempt to reclaim the allocated funds and withhold future funding.

Governor Ducey used the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund to create programs to empower students and parents to make informed decisions concerning their health. The Republican governor also addressed the negative economic impact of school closings and heavy-handed mask mandates on less fortunate regions. Ducey noted that while Biden focused on masks, he would work on catching kids up after losing a year of learning and tackle other issues that mattered to his constituents.

Despite his attempt to combat COVID-19 in a way he believed was best, Ducey is now facing a legal battle with the federal government because his way didn’t fit the Democratic narrative. Proof that Biden is fighting a political battle — not fighting for public health.
