Armed Intruder Stopped by FBI

( – Months of violent protests and a riot at the US Capitol Building have the nation’s law enforcement and intelligence agencies operating on pins and needles. Protesters have stormed state assembly houses, and a suspect recently rammed a barrier in Washington DC, killing one US Capitol police officer and injuring another.

FBI agents shot an armed intruder on Monday, May 3, after he attempted to force his way into the CIA’s headquarters in Langley, Virginia, using his car. Law enforcement officials told members of the media that armed guards stopped the suspect.

CIA security officials negotiated with the intruder for hours. Ultimately, authorities decided to attempt to push the suspect’s car out of the entrance. Shortly afterward, he stepped out of his vehicle and waved a gun before being shot by FBI agents. He reportedly suffered from mental illness and has tried to force his way into the CIA headquarters in the past.

The suspect was transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries, according to FBI officials.
