Biden Searches the Crowd for a Dead Congresswoman

(RepublicanNews.org) – President Biden has a long list of gaffes he’s made, which only adds to his political opponents’ criticism of his mental health and possible decline. The commander in chief was recently speaking at an event near the White House when he called on Rep. Jackie Walorski (R-IN) to identify herself. The Republican congresswoman had died in a car accident in early August.

Where Are You Jackie?

President Biden, who was speaking at a White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health, was thanking the crowd and sure to include “bipartisan elected officials,” such as Senator Mike Braun (R-IN) and Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ). The president then went on to name Rep. Walorski, asking if she was present at the event on September 28. Biden then noted “she must not be here.”

As many people know, Rep. Walorski died on August 3 after the vehicle she was in crossed the center line and collided head-on with another vehicle, killing her and two of her staffers. President Biden even released a statement mourning her death and lowered the flags on the White House to half-staff for two days following the Republican’s death. Yet, nearly two months later, the US leader was looking for her in the crowd. Did he forget what had happened?

Cause for Concern?

Biden’s political opponents have often pointed to his mental acuity as a reason to worry about his ability to perform his duties as the President of the United States and leader of the free world. His defenders have blamed his habit of making gaffes as the reason for some of his bizarre mishaps.

Following the president’s recent embarrassing remarks, the White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre claimed Biden had Representative Walorski on his mind, clarifying she was “top of mind” for the commander in chief. The press secretary noted the president was expecting to welcome Walorski’s family to the White House on September 30 for a bill signing in honor of the late congresswoman. Jean-Pierre insisted the American leader was recognizing Walorski’s work but didn’t offer insight into why he thought the Representative was still alive.

Republicans have drawn attention to Biden’s mishaps and gaffes, claiming they’re a sign of mental decline, even suggesting the president resign over the issue. His party has defended him every step of the way, noting the commander in chief has made several misstatements in the past. Is Biden just bad with words? Or is there something deeper at play here?
