Celebrities Spread Negativity About America on Independence Day

Hollywood Elites Spit On America

(RepublicanNews.org) – The Fourth of July is a time to celebrate the birth of America with family and friends. However, not every citizen feels warmly about the holiday. On the nation’s 246th birthday, many people — including some of America’s most influential celebrities — took advantage of their status to bash and berate Independence Day.

“Not So Independent”

Many Democrats and Left-leaning Americans believe it’s ironic to celebrate American freedom during a time when, in their eyes, SCOTUS is handing down increasingly restrictive decisions that fundamentally change the way citizens live. The overturning of Roe v. Wade was perhaps the most significant of these changes; the previously ruling had guaranteed women the right to abortions across all 50 states. SCOTUS’s decision to repeal the law ensures that each state has the right to decide whether to allow abortions on an individual level.

The decision to repeal Roe v. Wade probably didn’t come easy. Many Americans, particularly women, now feel they no longer retain the same rights as other citizens; they feel less independent, rather than freer than ever. Some abortion advocates have downplayed the importance of July 4 in response.

Others disagree with their stance. While some people might feel as though they’re less free, Independence Day is about celebrating America’s sovereignty from Great Britain, not the right to abortion — or lack thereof.

Wokeism at Its Worst

Some of America’s biggest names used Independence Day to advocate for other liberal ideologies. Among some of the most renowned influencers were Kim Kardashian and her mother, Kris Jenner, both of whom declared the holiday “canceled” on social media, citing a shortage of independence.

Oscar-winning actress Jessica Chastain also chimed in on the anti-America movement on Twitter. She shared a photo of herself holding up two middle fingers; the caption read, “Happy “Independence” Day from me and my reproductive rights.”

Some politicians, including US Representative Anna Eshoo (D-CA), took to Twitter to blast the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. She claimed the ruling overshadowed Independence Day and the nation’s 246th birthday but also pointed out that some Americans were utilizing their rights to the max by peacefully protesting.

ESPN and National Public Radio (NPR) also took advantage of the same opportunities. Howard Bryant of ESPN penned a slam piece titled “Baseball, barbecue and losing freedom this Fourth of July.” NPR, on the other hand, broke its tradition of having Steve Inskeep read the Declaration of Independence and instead talked about what equality in America means.

Some of America’s most influential people are allowing wokeism to hijack their ideologies. Is the distraction causing them to lose sight of the importance of Independence Day? Is the idea of being woke so ingrained in their way of thinking they’re essentially blind to everything else?
