DOJ Does The UNTHINKABLE – Drains Swamp Voluntarily
(RepublicanNews.org) – After the FBI raided former President Donald Trump’s property in Palm Beach, Florida, many Republicans slammed the alleged “weaponization” of the Department of Justice (DOJ). House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) went so far as to warn Attorney General Merrick Garland of an impending investigation into the matter. In the interest of impartiality, the AG announced on August 30 that “non-career appointees” working at the agency can no longer attend political events.
The DOJ is cracking down on employees’ political involvement ahead of midterms.
Non-career appointees will now be unable to attend any partisan fundraisers or campaign events, even if they have close family members running for office.https://t.co/CeQanqVvYe

In the past, department policy allowed such employees to attend partisan campaign gatherings and participate in fundraisers. But the practice will continue no longer. The memorandum noted the DOJ is “entrusted” with the authority to neutrally enforce federal laws, and Garland aims to make sure there is no question about the integrity of his department. The restriction extends to bar the personnel from even attending events for family members running for office.
He allowed for “no exceptions.”
However, the measure may be coming a bit too late, as many on the Right are of the opinion that the DOJ is compromised. Some believe President Joe Biden is using the entity to take down Trump before the general election in 2024. The US leader insists he found out about the FBI search along with the public.
What do you think of Garland’s move? Do you find the timing suspicious?
