Disney Cancelled These Stars

Disney Cancelled These Stars

(RepublicanNews.org) – Disney continues to make headlines as it changes, modifies, and adapts its iconic American look and feel to the next evolution of wokeness. Half of all new Disney characters will either be minorities or members of the LGBTQIA community. Mickey and Minnie, Pluto and the gang, and all the Princesses under the everlasting symbol of childhood fun will be sure to include everyone — except those with opposing political views.

In 2018, Disney-owned ABC reported that Roseanne Barr sent out a tweet the company considered racially sensitive. The star’s reboot of the 1980s sitcom “Roseanne” initially dominated the ratings. She suddenly found herself out of a job, a career, and a legacy. Barr admitted the tweet was in poor taste and apologized, but it was too late. Cancel culture claimed another victim.

In February 2021, Lucasfilms fired Gina Carano, a favorite cast member on the hit show “The Mandalorian.” Carano’s big mistake was comparing the current state of politics in the United States to Nazi Germany. While the comment was the actress’ opinion and not aimed at anyone, she got her walking papers.

Several other big names in entertainment found themselves on the business end of Disney’s chopping block. Former Bachelor host Chris Harrison lost his job after defending a contestant who had made racially incentive statements in the past. Disney sent James Gunn, director of the smash hit “Guardians of the Galaxy,” packing after they found out that he had a dark sense of humor. It would seem that the media mogul’s mission is clear: Offend nobody.

The actors appear to be taking their cancellations in stride. Carano, for example, remains active on Twitter and is an outspoken advocate for human rights.
