(RepublicanNews.org) – Donald Trump may not be the President of the United States anymore, but he still gets plenty of media coverage. The former president still possesses some political influence as he continues to make headlines. Maybe that’s what prompted him to announce an upcoming press conference in January.
The former president revealed his intention to hold a press conference at his Mar-a-Lago home on January 6, 2022, the one-year anniversary of the Capitol Riot.

Trump specifically targeted the House Select Committee tasked with investigating the January 6 capital riots during the same announcement. He wants to know why they’re refusing to look into what he feels is the true cause: election fraud in the 2020 presidential election.
Trump claims the real insurrection occurred on November 3, not January 6, 2020. He believes the protests on that date were an understandable and expected response to the government’s refusal to investigate a rigged election.
The former president plans to address all of these points during his upcoming conference.
Oddly enough, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi also announced her plan to host an event on the same anniversary at around the same time. Pelosi plans to discuss the matter with historians and host a prayerful vigil that night.
