Dr. Oz Saves Man's Life at Airport

(RepublicanNews.org) – As a cardiothoracic surgeon, Dr. Mehmet Oz is in the business of saving lives. He’s also worked to raise public awareness of medical issues and personal health as the host of The Dr. Oz Show.

News of his latest life-saving effort hit the airwaves earlier this week. However, this time, events didn’t play out in a hospital’s surgical wing. It happened at New Jersey’s Newark Liberty International Airport on the evening of March 1.

Here’s what happened. Port Authority Officer Jeffrey Croissant observed an older man falling to the floor next to a baggage claim area. As luck would have it, Dr. Oz was on the same flight with the unidentified man and offered his assistance.

He checked for a pulse and didn’t find one. He immediately began performing CPR on him with the assistance of Officer Croissant. As he later recounted in an interview with Good Morning America, other officers quickly arrived with a defibrillator machine.

Dr. Oz restored a heartbeat using that machine, and the man was dispatched to a local hospital. As Dr. Oz stated, the man’s rescue was a true miracle. The odds were stacked against him, but he was fully conscious and talking by the time the ambulance arrived.
