(RepublicanNews.org) – Retired Air Force Gen. Michael Hayden enjoyed a distinguished career before leaving public service. He served as director of both the CIA and NSA at a time of rising global challenges. In 2017, he started working for CNN, which may explain his latest stunt on Twitter.
Over the weekend, Hayden retweeted a split-image meme comparing supporters of former President Donald Trump to the Taliban. The top image shows a caravan of Islamic terrorists waving black flags and weapons titled “Their Taliban.” The bottom photo contains a procession of pickups waving American and Trump flags captioned “Our Taliban.”

Hayden hasn’t kept his dislike for Trump or his supporters a secret. In 2020, he endorsed Joe Biden, the then-Democratic nominee for president, and appeared on CNN to warn the country re-electing Trump would be “very bad for America.”
A quick review of Hayden’s Twitter page shows a long-standing habit of lashing out at MAGA members. Currently, his feed prominently displays him responding “Good idea” to a post suggesting America sends “MAGA-wearing” unvaccinated people to Afghanistan.

Former President Harry S. Truman once suggested politics was best left to civilians. Perhaps it’s time for Gen. Hayden to heed that advice and exit the political arena.
