Ex-Obama Staffer Says Democrats Could Lose Midterms After Wave of Failures

(RepublicanNews.org) – Republicans stand a good chance of retaking control of the House and Senate in the upcoming midterm elections if history is any indication. When a Democrat occupies the Oval Office, Republicans usually do well during mid-cycle elections. However, Democrats also face a looming threat from within, according to an insider.

Former Obama/Biden administration official and Democratic strategist Nick Rathod sat down for a wide-ranging interview with Breitbart News that aired on Monday, June 14. He expressed concern that the Left’s inability to work together to pass meaningful legislation could cripple their showing in the midterms.

Rathod said Joe Biden has done a “good job” responding to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, now it’s time for Democrats to “actually legislate… and produce results.” According to Rathod, that’s where Democrats could harm their midterm chances.

With the Left holding only narrow margins in both Congressional chambers, now is the time for party unity, Rathod said. However, those skinny margins mean that every Democratic vote counts, and far-Left party members refuse to budge on their radical agenda concerns. At the same time, some Moderate Democrats buck party lines and vote with Republicans.

Continuing, Rathod said American voters want results, and so far the Democrats aren’t giving them any reason to reelect them in the midterms.

In the meantime, Republicans are rallying around the upcoming 2022 elections. On June 15, the National Republican Congressional Committee reported they raised $14 million in May, the third consecutive month of record-breaking fundraising efforts.
