Fake News Sites Use Facebook to Manipulate Public

(RepublicanNews.org) – An unprecedented number of Liberal-owned websites masquerading as local news organizations flood Facebook’s newsfeed daily in hopes of skewing the November elections in favor of Democratic candidates.

Take the example of the Courier Newsroom, a fake news site recently named in a Federal Election Commission (FEC) complaint and detailed in an October 11 article published by National Review.

Here’s how it works. Courier Newsroom serves as the parent company for seven websites created in August of this year to appear to be local news organizations in critical battleground states like Florida, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Michigan, Arizona, Virginia, and Pennsylvania.

Then, they pumped more than $2 million into targeted Facebook ads in the last couple of months to drive traffic to articles promoting the campaigns of Democratic candidates competing in districts Donald Trump won during the 2016 election.

Elections shouldn’t be for sale to the highest bidder. Mark Levin is correct to question what, if anything, Facebook intends to do about the use of their platform to skew elections.
