Fox News Taps New Lawyers in Election Lawsuit

( – Dominion Voting Systems filed a $1.6-billion defamation suit against Fox News in late March. Dominion accused the network of damaging its reputation by “endorsing the lie” that voting fraud caused Donald Trump to lose the 2020 presidential election. However, Fox News is fighting back in a big way.

Law & Crime reported on April 13 that Fox News hired a couple of high-profile lawyers out of Texas to take over their defense, Charles Babcock and Scott Keller.

Babcock has tried more than 100 jury cases and over 50 appeals. He’s represented several noteworthy clients, including George W. Bush, Warren Buffet, Dr. Phil McGraw, and Bill O’Reilly.

Keller tried 11 cases in the United States Supreme Court. He served as the Texas Solicitor General and on the Senate Judiciary Committee as chief counsel for Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX). He also clerked for Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy.

Whether or not Dominion is attempting to silence Fox News or to use the lawsuit’s discovery portion as part of a witch hunt to discredit the network remains to be seen. However, with lawyers like these, Fox News can expect to get at the truth of the matter.
