(RepublicanNews.org) – In July 2016, the FBI launched an investigation to determine if members of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign coordinated with Russia to influence the outcome of the presidential election. Special counsel Robert Mueller took over that investigation but didn’t charge anyone connected with Trump’s campaign with conspiring with Russian officials. Former Attorney General William Barr appointed then-US Attorney for Connecticut, John Durham, to serve as a special counsel to get to the bottom of the origins of the 2016 Trump-Russia probe.
Former Trump advisor George Papadopoulos spoke out about Durham’s investigation during an interview on Saturday, May 22. Pressed on the timing of the conclusion of Durham’s investigation, Papadopoulos predicted the public would “have a final conclusion” on the matter “by this summer.”

Asked about the scope of Durham’s investigation, Papadopoulos stated that Durham went to Italy in 2019 to investigate the justification for the Trump-Russia investigation, and that’s where “Durham’s probe became criminal.”
Papadopoulos predicted Durham’s investigation would prove the Trump-Russia investigation originated as something “tantamount to [a] conspiracy” initiated by Obama administration officials.
“Durham is the real deal,” Papadopoulos said.
