(RepublicanNews.org) – Democrats have unsuccessfully engaged in identity politics for decades now. Here’s how it works. Instead of focusing on belief systems and policy goals, Democratic politicians reach out to people based on their identity.
In short, they pander to people based on their race or other identifying features in hopes of forming alliances to the exclusion of society as a whole. A perfect case in point is former Vice President Joe Biden’s recent speech on economic priorities posted on his transition team’s Twitter page on January 10.
"Our priority will be Black, Latino, Asian, and Native American owned small businesses, women-owned businesses, and finally having equal access to resources needed to reopen and rebuild." — President-elect Biden pic.twitter.com/pIyDuhf5pH

Ignoring Americans’ broad diversity, Biden said his goal was to prioritize providing financial aid to businesses owned by Asians, Blacks, Latinos, Native Americans, and women.
However, here’s where identity politics breaks down. His plan excludes the roughly 60% of the population that is White. It leaves out people of mixed racial backgrounds and people who don’t fit neatly into a group.
At its best, identity politics is the exclusion of the many for the benefit of the few. At its worst, it embodies the tenets of reverse racism. For those reasons, identity politics is doomed to fail and in all likelihood will take the Democrats down with it — perhaps as soon as the 2022 midterm elections.
