(RepublicanNews.org) – Hunter Biden said his family would fulfill the wishes of a Chinese energy magnate in exchange for a $10 million payment, according to newly-released text messages from the House Oversight Committee.
“The Bidens are the best I know at doing exactly what the Chairman wants,” a portion of the message reads.
The August 3rd, 2017, WhatsApp exchange was with Gongwen Dong, an associate at CEFC. By default, the energy company is linked to the Chinese Communist Party. Biden’s $10 million per year demand appears to be in response to a lower first offer from the business.
Hunter Biden’s opening statement in the note says their offer of $5 million “is not acceptable.”
In 2020, the Senate Homeland Security and Finance Committees released a report indicating that Hunter Biden had ties to Chinese businessmen that were linked to the PLA and CCP. That report showed that almost $5 million was wired to a bank account that Hunter Biden had opened with Chinese associates under the business name of Hudson West III. It was deposited on August 8th, 2017, less than a week after Hunter Biden had made his demands to Dong.
That same report showed Hunter Biden and Gongwen Dong had opened a joint line of credit through Hudson West III. President Joe Biden’s brother and sister-in-law used credit cards attached to the account.
Following the first transfer of $5 million, Hudson West III wired a total of $4,790,375.25 to Owasco, another firm set up by Hunter Biden. The transfers were made in increments over the course of about seven weeks. Owasco and Hudson West III are the firms Biden said would be handling consulting fees in his WhatsApp exchange.
The report states that the funds “may have originated” from the account of an investment company based in Hong Kong that was a “substantial shareholder” in CEFC.
President Joe Biden has denied being involved with any of his son’s business dealings.
