IRS Extends Deadline For Non-Filers to Register for Stimulus Payments

(RepublicanNews.org) – Are you one of the 9 million people who haven’t received your $1,200 coronavirus stimulus payment yet? There’s good news for you. The IRS extended the deadline for five weeks on Oct. 5, giving you ample time to file for your benefits today. We’ll show you how.

In March, Congress passed the stimulus relief package, giving most Americans a $1,200 stimulus payment plus an additional $500 per dependent child. Set to expire on Oct. 15, the IRS extended that deadline to Nov. 21, but only for non-filers.

You can use the link below in a tweet from the IRS to see if you’re eligible to receive that one-time payment. The linked document also walks you through all the steps for receiving your payment. Or, if you prefer, you can click here to go directly to the IRS Non-Filers tool to apply.

You still may be eligible to receive this payment if you do not file federal taxes, but be sure you file by Nov. 21. If you do file taxes, the Oct. 15 deadline still applies to you.
