(RepublicanNews.org) – In a gamble, Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, nearly lost his position as the country’s leader. He managed to win the election but failed to reach his ultimate goal. What does the future have in store for Canada?
Trudeau, to the dismay of much of Canada, pushed for an early election. The decision came because he thought his party was doing well and would win more seats, going from a minority to a majority in parliament.

Of course, that didn’t happen, and Trudeau’s Liberal Party only won 158 seats, just one more than before. It’s nowhere near the 170 needed for a majority. In other words, Canada’s parliament is essentially in the same situation as before.
Now, Trudeau still faces opposition when attempting to pass legislation, making it difficult to advance his agenda. However, the 49-year-old politician did win a historic third election. He just fell short of his ultimate goal of achieving a majority in the Canadian House of Commons.
Essentially, little is likely to change in Canadian politics because the overall government composition remained static. Conservatives beat out Liberals in the popular vote for the second consecutive election, which could ultimately spell trouble for Trudeau and his Liberals in the future.
