(RepublicanNews.org) – In an interview with Teen Vogue, Vice President Kamala Harris said that she is relying on teen voters to push abortion-on-demand as part of the Democratic agenda. Harris gave the June 24 interview via phone following a North Carolina speech that took place on the one-year anniversary of Dobbs v. Jackson.
The case overturned the federal right to an abortion that had been codified by Roe v. Wade in 1973. Dobbs v. Jackson put the issue of abortion into the hands of individual states.
Harris referred to Vogue’s teenage demographic as “leaders” and reminded them of their “ability to organize.” In the speech preceding her words with Vogue, Harris referred to opponents of abortion as “extremist so-called leaders.”
Because of their vote, young people have the ability to “change the composition of Congress,” she said. She further encouraged teens to take to social media and have conversations with their friends about the implications of abortion restrictions. During the 2022 midterms, the VP pointed out that young people were behind pro-abortion measures that were passed in states like California and Kansas.
After referencing “unwanted pregnancies,” Harris said that the abortion industry was there to “help” people who have “struggles.”
Last month, the VP met with 14 women from Planned Parenthood and other pro-abortion organizations. She sought their advice as to how the Biden administration could push its abortion agenda during the 2024 election cycle. Reportedly, the White House fears the issue will “get stuck” in the “echo chamber” of Washington politics.
The group was said to have discussed how to make voters take heed of pro-abortion candidates at the bottom of their ballots. They were concerned that most voters pay attention only to the races at the top of their ticket.
On behalf of Harris, pro-abortion PAC EMILY’s List is set to spend “tens of millions of dollars” to boost her standing in the eyes of voters during the 2024 election.
