(RepublicanNews.org) – The University of Notre Dame recently targeted Chick-fil-A and banned it from opening on-campus business operations. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) heard about the controversy and posted a series of tweets on July 14, endorsing the company.
Apparently, a group of students sent a letter to the university’s newspaper, pushing back on the school’s plan to consider adding a Chick-fil-A to its on-campus dining facilities.
It’s disappointing to hear some ND students and faculty want to ban Chick-fil-A from doing business on campus because they disagree with the values held by the Chick-fil-A founders.
What a dangerous precedent to set.

Graham expressed disappointment that students wanted to cancel Chick-fil-A from doing business simply because the company’s founders and the students don’t hold the same values. He said he wanted everyone across America to know he has Chick-fil-A’s back, adding that he would “go to war” for the company’s principles of offering “great food” and “great services” at a good price.
“God bless Chick-fil-A,” he said.
The company has come under fire for making donations to anti-LGBTQ groups through its charitable foundation. The restaurant chain has also been the subject of several boycotts by leftist organizations and groups over the years.
Cancel culture has taken the country by storm over the last few years. At one time, the possibility of being shunned for “politically incorrect” behavior was most people’s greatest concern. Nowadays, consumers can shut down businesses for taking a position or making a statement a group finds offensive in any way.
Hopefully, Graham’s remarks open some minds to the perils of cancel culture. After all, Chick-fil-A not only offers great food, but the company also provides much-needed jobs.
