Lindsey Graham’s New Pro-Life Legislation

Lindsey Graham's New Pro Life Legislation

Lindsey Graham SHOCKS U.S. Senate – Big Announcement!

( – Abortion has become a bigger hot-button issue than it already was, thanks to the Supreme Court’s recent decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, the landmark decision legalizing abortion nationwide. The decision handed the responsibility of regulating the procedure back to the states, resulting in several regions banning them. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) recently introduced pro-life legislation that likely shocked both Democrats and Republicans alike.

The senator had previously been open to a 20-week abortion ban. However, the Supreme Court’s ruling that Mississippi’s 15-week ban was constitutional inspired him to take his measure a step further and introduced a bill that would create a nationwide ban on abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy.

The legislation offers exceptions in cases of rape, incest, and when the fetus is endangering the mother’s life. Graham’s proposal comes three months after the Supreme Court opened the door for states to decide how to approach abortions and just two months before an intense midterm election cycle.

The legislation could serve as a bridge between policies that are stricter and ones that are more lenient. However, the law wouldn’t stop states from restricting abortions even further or altogether banning the procedure. Graham noted the move was an attempt to find a middle ground where more Americans would feel sympathy for unborn children.
