Cheney Gets NASTY – Makes WILD Claims About McCarthy
(RepublicanNews.org) – Representative Liz Cheney (R-WY) recently lost her primary election, meaning she won’t be retaking her seat in the House. The lawmaker has caught flak from her party and the former president for criticizing Trump and investigating him as part of the January 6 Committee. Now, despite being on her way out of Wyoming’s single House seat, the Representative is attacking Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), who will be the Speaker of the House if Republicans can flip the lower chamber of Congress.
“And he’s been completely unfaithful to the Constitution and demonstrated a total lack of understanding of the significance and the importance of the role of Speaker," Cheney said. https://t.co/BRaZH1DFVP

The Republican recently spoke with Jonathan Karl of ABC News for an interview on the network’s “This Week.” During their discussion, Karl brought up the question of whether the country would be better or worse if Representative McCarthy took Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) place as the House leader. Cheney asserted he didn’t “deserve” the position, claiming the Minority Leader is “unfaithful” to the US Constitution. The Republican stated further that McCarthy didn’t understand how vital the role of Speaker of the House was.
"I don't believe he should be Speaker of the House."

Cheney also explained that as second in line to become president behind the vice president, the Speaker needs to be someone who “understands” their duty, oath, and obligations. The congresswoman’s comment comes not long after the Trump-backed Harriet Hageman (R), an attorney, defeated her in Wyoming’s primary election.
McCarthy likely fell into Cheney’s sights due to his long-standing loyalty to the 45th president. Most recently, the Senate Minority Leader warned Attorney General Merrick Garland to prepare for an investigation against the Department of Justice if the GOP reclaimed the chamber in November.
