Liz Cheney Says Trump Supporters Are a Cult

(RepublicanNews.org) – There’s a war brewing within the Republican Party in the wake of the highly-contested 2020 presidential election. For the past few weeks, Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) was on one side. On the other side stood Former President Donald Trump, along with House and Senate Republicans. However, as of Wednesday, May 5, Cheney made it a point to toss Trump’s supporters into the ring.

Cheney penned an op-ed piece for The Washington Post that day. It started with the usual accusations she’s been making for weeks and weeks — that Trump lost the election and his denial led to the riot at the nation’s capital on January 6.

However, this time, she included Republicans as a whole in her rant, but in particular, those who support Trump. According to her, Republicans have reached a “turning point.” They need to decide whether or not to “join Trump’s crusade” to destroy the legitimacy of the 2020 election.

Adding fuel to the fire, she said it was time for Republicans to embrace “conservative principles” and abandon the “dangerous and anti-democratic Trump cult of personality.”

She concluded her rant, warning Republicans that “History is watching. Our Children are watching.” Of course they are, and true American patriots know what she’s trying to do.
