(RepublicanNews.org) – Though for reasons unknown, a mass shooting appears to have been averted in Colorado. According to authorities and a number of different outlets, a man who has uniformly been described as being “heavily armed” was found dead in a women’s restroom at a Centennial State amusement park on the morning of October 28th.
The yet-to-be-named man, age 20, was reportedly clad head to toe in tactical gear bearing law enforcement insignia and appeared to have chosen to take his own life in the hours before the park opened to the public. According to the Sheriff’s Office for Garfield County, the unnamed individual was found with an AR-15-style rifle, a pistol, and explosives of some kind.
In addition to his tactical setup, officials said his chest rig contained body armor and additional magazines for both his rifle and handgun. According to Sheriff Lou Vallario, the now-deceased individual appeared to have taken the time to scribble a message on the wall of the restroom where he was found dead.
The note reportedly said that he was “not a killer” and that he “just [wanted] to get into the caves.” Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park, the incident’s location, is near an expansive cave system. The park itself is home to roller coasters and other similar attractions, but cavern tours are available to patrons as a side option.
Law enforcement said it appeared that the individual had hopped the park’s fencing unnoticed. They have not yet divulged how long they believe he was inside the location prior to his apparent suicide. The only other identifying information authorities have provided about the deceased is that he was from Colorado’s Carbondale area.
Reports have been conflicted regarding the nature of the explosives that were reportedly found. Some said genuine devices were discovered alongside his body and others said both genuine and fake devices were found in his car. Glenwood Caverns has chosen to close its doors until November 10th.
(RepublicanNews.org) – Somewhere in the neighborhood of 3.5 million Muslims call the United States home—the demographic accounts for a little over 1% of the nation’s total population. Three sitting U.S. representatives identify as such, though there would likely still be a fourth had Keith Ellison not gone on to become Minnesota’s Attorney General.
Though not all, some Arab and Muslim stateside organizations are threatening to use their influence to make President Joe Biden pay dearly for his support of Israel should he choose not to take steps to broker a ceasefire in Gaza. Said groups have warned the Commander-in-Chief that they will withhold their votes and donations in the upcoming 2024 election cycle if he continues down the same path.
On October 30, the National Muslim Democratic Council gave the President an ultimatum with only 24 hours of leeway. In a letter addressed to both him and the leadership of the Democratic Party, they demanded that Biden use his “influence” to mitigate what they described as a total “humanitarian catastrophe” in Gaza.
The group supports Democratic candidates who are of Muslim background and wields significant influence, especially in certain swing states. Their note to the head-of-state pledged “to mobilize” Arabs, Muslims, and allied voters to “withhold funding, endorsements, and votes” should he not successfully coordinate a ceasefire between the Israelis and Hamas by 5 p.m. EST on October 31st.
Their communique to the President points out their apparent power in the voting booth and reminds him of Michigan’s “crucial” 16 “electoral votes,” though other states are mentioned as well. October 31st has now come and gone without a ceasefire being implemented in Gaza and it stands to be seen how the NMDC will proceed.
Exit polls from 2020 showed that former President Donald Trump received about 35% of the Muslim demographic’s vote. The NMDC has not indicated if they will push voters towards abstention, non-affiliated candidates, or Republicans.
