(RepublicanNews.org) – The past couple of months have been a bit of a rollercoaster ride for Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA). On January 3, she was sworn in as the US Representative for Georgia’s 14th district. Barely a month later, House Democrats voted unanimously to strip her committee assignments, with 11 Republicans, including Rep. Fred Upton (R-GA), joining them in a 230 to 199 vote.
However, she received a victory and vindication in her home state when members of Georgia’s Cass County Republican Party voted to censure Upton for his decision to side with Democrats against Greene.

A resolution accompanied the February 23 censure stating Upton’s vote was “a betrayal of his oath of office” and the “core values” of the Cass County Republican Party.
Upton pushed back against the censure, saying he stood behind his vote, that Congress was right to remove her committee assignments.
It’s worth noting that Upton also received a vote of censure from the Republican Party executive committees from Cass, Calhoun and Berrien Counties for his vote with House Democrats in their effort to impeach Donald Trump.
