(RepublicanNews.org) – Attorney General and former Obama nominee for the U.S. Supreme Court is in Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene’s sights.
Greene, Rep. from Georgia, is introducing articles of impeachment against the nation’s top law enforcement official for what she calls the “weaponization and politicization” of the nation’s justice system.
Merrick Garland’s justice department has come under fire in recent years for apparently investigating parents who protest woke policies at school board meetings. The Department of Justice’s (DOJ) focus on angry parents has led to accusations that DOJ is treating conservative parents as “domestic terrorists.”
Despite nearly universal “debunking” in the mainstream media—the argument is that since Garland didn’t use the precise phrase “domestic terrorists“, then he hasn’t targeted parents—the DOJ’s views of dissatisfied conservative parents strike many observers as alarming.
Greene’s articles of impeachment accuse Garland of violating his duty to uphold the Constitutional rights of citizens, and that his actions “endanger the justice system.” The document lists several complaints about the FBI’s actions under Garland’s leadership. Among them is the claim that the FBI targeted public school parents at the behest of a teacher’s union (it was the letter from this union that labeled parents “domestic terrorists.”
Greene also alleges that Garland and the agencies he leads refuse to prosecute what she calls “leftist extremists”. The DOJ did not pursue charges against the protestors who, perhaps illegally, protested outside the homes of Supreme Court justices Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch.
Nicholas John Roske was arrested in 2022 for threatening to kill Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
Greene accused Garland of using the FBI as a personal “police force” for President Joe Biden by “persecuting” former President Donald Trump and pursuing anti-abortion activists in court. She also cited the lack of prosecution of Black Lives Matter activists who rioted and burned government buildings in 2022.
Greene didn’t stop at Merrick Garland; she also introduced a resolution to impeach FBI Director Christopher Wray.
