(RepublicanNews.org) – The current governor of Arizona, Doug Ducey (R), cannot run for reelection next year as he has reached his term limit. That leaves an open door for a new governor to step in. Recent polling shows the race to replace Ducey is a close one.
With the Arizona election in November 2021 growing closer, it’s unclear which party voters want to take charge. Republicans hold a slim lead over Democrats, with 39% of voters asserting they want the state to remain red. Meanwhile, 36% say they want a blue state, and another 25% remain undecided.

The Arizona Public Opinion Pulse (AZPOP) of OH Predictive Insights (OHPI) conducted the poll from September 7 through September 12 and allowed a margin of error of 3.3%. So, the 3% lead that Republicans currently have could be misleading. The poll also found that the leading Republican is Kari Lake, a former Fox 10 news anchor endorsed by former President Donald Trump, with 25%.
Leading the Democratic party is Katie Hobbs, the current Arizona Secretary of State and a known critic of President Trump. The Democratic race isn’t as close as the Republican side, as Hobbs has a commanding lead with 40%.
As of now, no party holds a definitive advantage, and it’s unclear which party will be victorious come election time.
