(RepublicanNews.org) – Former President Donald Trump is no stranger to rumors. He’s been through it all, from Russian collusion to the newest whispers that he’s leaving the Republican party. Like the Russian probe, the idea of him breaking from the party seems unfounded.
On November 18, Ronna McDaniel, Republican National Committee (RNC) Chair, said there was never any concern the former president would depart the party. She feels Trump will play a critical role in GOP wins throughout the 2022 midterm elections.

McDaniel stated Republicans cannot succeed if Trump doesn’t take part in the campaign. She credits the former president with adding numbers to the GOP’s base and helping to change the image of the party to one that stands for working Americans.
The RNC chair also says that as voters are turning against policies on the Left that are not working, they see the Republican platform standing for everything they want.
The rumor about Trump jumping ship started with a book by Jonathan Karl titled “Betrayal: The Final Act of the Trump Show.” The author claims the former president angrily told the RNC chairwoman he would leave the party in response to a lack of loyalty to his cause.
Karl also claims Trump said he would start his own political group and that he told McDaniel he didn’t care if his departure ruined the GOP. Trump supposedly changed his mind after the party threatened to take action against him, costing him millions of dollars.
Key players say Karl got it wrong. There are plenty of hints coming from the Trump camp that he will run again in 2024, and if he does, it will be as a proud member of the Republican party.
