Rand Paul and Dr. Fauci Fight Over Child Vaccines

Rand Paul Just Called Out Dr. Fauci’s Bluff

(RepublicanNews.org) – In 2021, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) butted heads with NIAID director, Dr. Anthony Fauci, over the coronavirus. The legislator accused the immunologist of lying to Congress about his part in funding gain-of-function research in Wuhan labs in China. Fauci denied the accusation.

On September 14, the pair clashed again over COVID-19, only this time it was regarding vaccinations. Paul played a clip from 2004 of the doctor saying children who contracted the flu were protected from the virus. In the video, Fauci said, “the best vaccination is to get infected yourself,” to which the Kentucky lawmaker questioned why the medical professional insisted kids receive COVID-19 shots even if they’d had the illness.

The NIAID director responded that the clip Paul played was out of context. Fauci claimed the full video would explain that while a previous infection is strong protection, vaccination provides an “added, extra boost.”

The politician continued to question Fauci about whether he or his team received money from pharmaceutical companies providing the coronavirus vaccines. The doctor previously refused to answer that query. Paul then warned the immunologist that Republicans would “change the rules” if they gained power in Congress this November and force him to reply.
