Ron DeSantis Is Going to War With CRT

( – Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) is at it once again. The governor has made a name for himself by staunchly protecting conservative ideals and not caving to Democratic pressure. Recently, the governor banned the Department of Children and Families facilities from aiding illegal minors. Now, the governor is going after Critical Race Theory (CRT).

Governor DeSantis introduced a new bill on December 15 seeking to ban CRT in classrooms and corporations. DeSantis introduced the legislation as the “Stop Wrongs to Our Kids and Employees (WOKE) Act.” The Florida governor has made it clear he is against CRT, often criticizing it. DeSantis claimed CRT deconstructs society in an attempt to find evidence of systemic racism and place blame on people based solely on the color of their skin.

Earlier in the year, the governor explained CRT has no place in classrooms, and teaching children to hate each other and their country isn’t worth even the smallest amount of taxpayer money. However, DeSantis isn’t stopping with the education system.

Instead, he’s trying to abolish CRT in corporate settings as well. The governor explained CRT had made its way into some of the most powerful corporations in the United States. DeSantis firmly believes there’s no place for the theory in boardrooms or employee training. He noted the divisive nature of CRT claims which include claims the US is a country for white supremacists, and white parents raise their children to be racist.

The Stop WOKE Act seeks to protect employees, teachers, and staff from CRT by declaring it discriminatory. The act should protect children and their families by turning the State Board of Education’s actions into Florida state law.
