(RepublicanNews.org) – Millions of Texans don’t have any power after a record-breaking surge in demand during a historic winter storm created a systemwide failure of the state’s electrical grid on Monday, February 15. Local news affiliates reported that full restoration of power would be slow due to an anticipated secondary power overload once households started coming back online.
Fox News host Tucker Carlson blasted the state’s reliance on sustainable energy sources for the problem. Of particular concern is the state’s reliance on wind turbines, which froze over during the storm.

According to Carlson, the root problem is politicians’ embrace of the “fashionable route” of using wind farms to power the state’s grid. He went on to suggest that what’s happening in Texas is a preview of coming attractions if Joe Biden’s efforts to support the Green New Deal move forward. The use of sustainable energy sources “inevitably means blackouts.”
As Carlson noted, an energy-rich state like Texas going offline is like a grocery store running out of food.
