What Terrorism Looks Like in 2020

(RepublicanNews.org) – If one wants to spot a terrorist, it helps to know how best to define terrorism. According to the FBI website, the Code of Federal Regulations defines it as “the unlawful use of force and violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives.” (28 C. F. R. Section 0.85).

Terrorizing America in 2020

The worst act of terrorism ever committed on American soil thus far happened on September 11, 2001 when operatives of Al Qaeda hijacked several planes and used them as weapons. According to the government’s definition, some actions here in 2020 qualify as well, considering some of the happenings in places like Seattle, Washington, and Portland, Oregon.

Terrorist groups have continued to use the force of arms, and the threat of more, to unlawfully seize neighborhoods, cause extensive property damage, and kill people.

These extreme groups have used the death of George Floyd and other Blacks during their interactions with police in different areas of the country as cover to launch their war against America. If one were to put a picture next to the definition of terrorism on the FBI webpage, a mugshot of one of the thugs involved with this would be perfect.

The First Amendment

Many Progressive Liberal politicians and the media hacks on the left have been playing the “right to assemble card” ad nauseam, particularly in terms of local police using less-than-lethal riot control weapons, and President Donald Trump sending federal officers into local jurisdictions. But in typical fashion for their ilk, they seem to conveniently forget the exact wording, which is “… the right of the people peaceably [emphasis added] to assemble.”

Perhaps it isn’t so much that they forget as that they’re most likely graduates of our public school systems which were hijacked years ago and switched from educating to indoctrinating. One would be hard-pressed to find any dictionary or encyclopedia where rioting, looting, or armed insurrection are considered peaceful in any way, shape, or form.

Presidential Power

The same liberals keep insisting that President Trump has no constitutional right to use federal assets, up to and including military forces, to try to restore order. Again, it seems that it may have slipped their minds that he and all of them swore an oath to protect this country from all enemies, “foreign or domestic.”

Furthermore, the Insurrection Act of 1807 seems to have been purpose-written for what’s happening today. It gives the sitting president the power to use military forces to quell uprisings like this, regardless of the claims made by any local or state official.

For example, the City Council in Seattle abdicated their responsibility to protect their citizens when they passed a law forbidding their police forces from using things like pepper spray, rubber bullets, or even water cannons to keep rioters contained. That is pretty much the exact definition of “anarchy” and somebody somewhere has to use their authority to reinstate the rule of law.

The year 2020 is shaping up to be one where the very foundations of the freest country the world has ever seen are, without exaggeration, in danger. Should former Vice President Joe Biden and other Democratic Party candidates win in November, the United States as we know it could cease to be.
