(RepublicanNews.org) – Four people died in a recent plane crash in the Caribbean, including an American father alongside his two daughters.
The crash happened just after the plane took off from a small island called Bequia, which is part of the Grenadines, a small island chain between Grenada and St. Vincent in the Lesser Antilles of the Caribbean Sea. According to authorities, the single-engine plane took off shortly after noon on Thursday, January 4th, from the J.F. Mitchell Airport.
Tragedy struck shortly after takeoff, according to police forces, when the “aircraft experienced difficulties” and then crashed “into the ocean.” Including the pilot, who was also the plane’s owner and identified as Robert Sachs, a total of four were on the aircraft. Police identified the passengers as Christian Klepser, a 51-year-old American citizen, and two girls who were his daughters: Madita, 12, and Annik, 10.
Police said in their statement that “divers from Paget Farm,” as well as nearby fishermen, were the first to arrive on the scene and tried to assist. The Caribbean nation’s Coast Guard responded, too, and discovered the four bodies after conducting a search of the area near the crash site. Autopsies will be carried out to determine the exact cause of death for each victim, and the cause of the aircraft’s failure remains unclear.
Soon after the story broke, it was discovered that Klepser was actually Christian Oliver, a German actor and model. He was known for starring in the German TV series “Cobra 11” and also had a role in the 2008 movie “Speed Racer.” Klepser was born in Frankfurt and immigrated to the US to become a model and study acting.
In a statement about the incident on social media from Wundabar Pilates, where the actor’s ex-wife Jessica Klepser works as a regional manager, the victim’s family said that they are “deeply saddened” by the accident that took the lives of Jessica’s two daughters and ex-husband. After describing what happened, the family then paid tribute to the dead.
