(RepublicanNews.org) – Former South Carolina governor and UN ambassador Nikki Haley is in hot water again, and this time for writing a phrase on an Israeli bomb that raised more than a few eyebrows.
On Wednesday, May 29th, Democratic Rep. Jamaal Bowman of New York ripped into Haley after a photo of the former UN ambassador went viral showing her writing a message on an Israeli bomb that said “Finish them!” followed by “America,” a heart, and “Israel always.”
Bowman appeared on CNN and harshly criticized the Republican for her actions, calling Haley “a disgusting human being” for writing the message, which he described as “genocidal language.” Bowman said such language is making Americans turn against their own government.
The picture was posted by former Israeli UN ambassador and member of parliament, Danny Danon, and showed Haley writing the message on the artillery shell. The photo was accompanied by a caption in which Danon called Haley his “friend” and boasted to his followers about the message she scrawled on the shell while visiting an artillery post on Israel’s northern border. He ended the message by declaring that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) “will win!” Danon also included a photo showing himself writing a message on one of the bombs.
Bowman’s criticism comes amid an increased international backlash against Israel over its military operations in the city of Rafah, where thousands of civilians are taking refuge and thought to be the last stronghold of Hamas militants. A recent airstrike from the previous weekend killed over 45 people, and the death toll in Gaza overall has reportedly exceeded 35,000. This latest chapter in the decades-long conflict between Israeli and Palestinian forces, which has been ongoing for almost eight months, boiled over after Hamas attacked Israel on Oct. 7th, 2023, killing over 1,200 and taking over 200 hostages.
Bowman rebuked U.S. involvement in what he called “forever wars,” questioning why the government is “sending trillions” on killing people overseas while Americans suffer in their country. That sentiment is similar to some of the more hardline Republicans who also believe the U.S. should stay out of the conflict.
