(RepublicanNews.org) – Now that Vice President Kamala Harris is stepping in to replace President Joe Biden as the 2024 Democratic Party nominee, the woke mainstream media are rallying to her side in a last-minute effort to paint her as the most viable option for the White House, and they’re doing so by whitewashing her past.
On Sunday, July 21st, Biden announced he would no longer seek reelection and intended to put all of his focus instead on completing his last six months in office. In a subsequent post, he endorsed Harris as his replacement. Within two days, she mustered the support of the majority of Democratic delegates, who are set to vote on the matter on August 1st.
According to a recent report, GovTrack altered its profile description of Harris. GovTrack is a site that allows anyone to examine the partisan leanings and elected officials’ public voting records. The alteration removed a reference to the vice president’s voting record from when she served as a senator stating that the California lawmaker’s record was the most left-leaning out of the entire Senate. GovTrack’s ratings for 2019 essentially listed Harris as the most liberal senator.
The ratings looked at how much bipartisan legislation each Senator sponsored or cosponsored while in office. The website claims it decided to remove single-year ratings because they did not adequately represent a lawmaker’s partisan leaning. Even with the 2019 rating gone, Harris still comes in as only the sixth most left-leaning senator during her tenure, surpassed by such names as Corey Booker of New Jersey and Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut.
Other signs of damage control include a report about the news outlet Axios claiming the outlet tried to blame former President Donald Trump’s campaign for designating Harris as the “border czar,” a nickname it turns out Axios itself gave the vice president. There is an effort to erase any implication that Harris was ever put in charge of the border because the failings of the situation became a major stumbling block for Biden.
None of the mainstream outlets seem interested in covering her performance the last time she ran for president either. In July 2019, former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard destroyed Harris in a debate, slamming the then-senator on her criminal prosecution record as a California district attorney.
