Illegal Alien Arrested For Alleged Heinous Crimes and Armed Robbery

(RepublicanNews.org) – Another illegal alien was just arrested in Louisiana for allegedly assaulting a minor and stabbing another victim in a separate incident, which is the latest case in a wave of violent crimes related to undocumented immigrants who’ve illegally crossed into the U.S. over the southern border.

Nineteen-year-old Angel Matias Castellanos-Orellana was detained on Sunday, February 25th, according to the Kenner Police Department, for committing an armed robbery in which he allegedly stabbed the victim. They also confirmed that Castellanos-Orellana is a Honduran national who entered the U.S. illegally.

The suspect reportedly approached the stabbing victim as he exited his vehicle. Castellanos-Orellana allegedly demanded his property and then stabbed the victim “in his face and his back” multiple times. The victim was taken to a hospital and is in stable condition.

Kenner Police said the arrest was the “result of two separate investigations.” Detectives began searching for Castellanos-Orellana as a suspect in another case involving a rape and assault of a 14-year-old girl. He faces charges of aggravated assault and first-degree rape for that case, and aggravated battery and armed robbery for the stabbing. A federal detainer from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) was also issued for Castellanos-Orellana.

Kenner Police Chief Keith Conley said in a statement that illegals have been an ongoing challenge for police for a lot of reasons, including lack of data access, “false identification,” as well as “language barriers.” He said all of these factors have disadvantaged law enforcement. Conley said it’s becoming difficult to “verify if an illegal alien is giving correct information” about their identities, which is draining “police manpower” and the budgets of local law enforcement on the taxpayer’s dime.

Conley added that Castellanos-Orellana “caused terror” in the community for 25 days. Although he’s glad the criminal is off the streets, the police chief wonders if he’ll “be back” and whether he will “have a new identity” next time he’s captured.

The capture of Castellanos-Orellana is the latest in a string of crimes committed by illegals. A few days before, on February 22nd, a 32-year-old Venezuelan national was arrested in Virginia for molesting a 14-year-old girl. On that same day, a University of Georgia student’s body was discovered, and another Venezuelan national, 22, was arrested in connection with the murder. Both men entered the US illegally over the southern border.
