(RepublicanNews.org) – Another illegal immigrant living for years in the United States has been accused of murder. Victor Manuel Gomez Acosta of Abbotsford, Wisconsin, is facing two counts of first-degree murder and attempted murder after stabbing his wife and two children.
The children died, but his wife survived. Acosta is a Mexican national.
Acosta’s bond is $1 million, and he’ll make his first court appearance on July 30.
According to local police, cops found two dead children at the home covered in stab wounds. His wife, also stabbed, was alive at the scene and given emergency medical care. Authorities have not released the names of the victims.
The suspect himself was still at the scene and had what appeared to be self-inflicted knife wounds; he was arrested and taken to a medical facility for treatment.
Police found the children in one of the bedrooms. One child suffered 16 stab wounds, while the other had been stabbed 20 times. Acosta’s wife had 17 wounds, and one them severed her vocal cords.
According to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Acosta is an illegal alien, and the agency has put a “detainer” on him after he was arrested July 9. A detainer means that a person will be deported after being released from prison.
Acosta has been in the U.S. since the fall of 2016, having come in through Laredo, Texas at a border checkpoint. A condition of his entry mandated that Acosta leave at a certain date and time, and he failed to do so.
The news out of Wisconsin is just the latest in a series of reports of violent crimes against Americans committed by illegal aliens. Under President Joe Biden’s administration, at least 10 million so-called “migrants” have illegally jumped the border, causing public outrage and scathing criticism from Congressional Republicans. Democrats have famously dragged their feet on what they call Donald Trump’s border wall, refusing to push the project forward.
The body of Georgia college student Laken Riley was found along a trail for runners in February on the campus of the University of Georgia. 26-year-old Jose Ibarra, in the U.S. illegally, has been charged with her murder. He has pleaded not guilty.
