Trump Issues Shocking Response to Biden Withdrawal

(RepublicanNews.org) – President Joe Biden dropped out of the 2024 race over the weekend, and former President Donald Trump responded to the news with a harsh message, one his critics believe contradicts his stated goal of seeking national unity after the failed attempted assassination against him.

Biden officially announced his withdrawal on Sunday, July 21st, by posting a letter on social media. In a subsequent post, the president officially endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris to replace him as the Democratic nominee taking on Trump.

Trump responded to the news on his Truth Social page using one of his derogatory nick-names for the president, calling him “Crooked Joe Biden.” The former president said Biden “was not fit to run” for office and also “not fit to serve,” adding that he “never was.” Trump claimed that Biden only attained the presidency using “lies,” “fake news,” and by hiding in his basement. He also said everyone around Biden, from his doctor to the media, knew he “wasn’t capable” of the job.

The former president noted the border crisis under Biden’s watch, which he said has been “totally unchecked and unvetted,” allowing people into the US who were former prisoners, came from “mental institutions,” as well as “record numbers of terrorists.”

Trump ended the remark by saying the country would “suffer greatly” from Biden’s presidency but that his administration would “remedy the damage… quickly” once he’s in office again. In a subsequent post, Trump reiterated that Biden was “the worst” president in US history. He went on to list what he felt were Biden’s biggest failures and said those around him lied to the entire country about his physical health and cognitive abilities. Trump concluded that message by stating that whoever is put in to replace Biden in the race would “be more of the same.”

On Sunday, he also claimed that if Harris becomes the nominee for the Democratic Party, he believes she would actually be easier to beat than Biden.

Harris made her first remarks on Monday after Biden’s endorsement as the public speculated about the state of the president’s health, many even believing he was dead after not being heard from for days. On Tuesday, July 23rd, Biden made a brief appearance boarding Air Force One to fly back to Washington, D.C., dispelling rumors of his demise.
