VP Harris Demands Disqualification for Trump Conviction

(RepublicanNews.org) – Vice President Kamala Harris believes that the felony conviction of former President Donald Trump in New York should disqualify him from running for the White House again.

On Saturday, June 8th, Harris spoke in Detroit, Michigan, at a Democratic Party dinner and used it as another opportunity to bash the former president for his “attacks” on the American justice system.

On Thursday, May 30th, Trump was found guilty by a Manhattan jury on all 34 counts against him for falsifying business records to allegedly hide transactions. Prosecutors argue those payments were hush money to cover up alleged affairs leading into the 2016 presidential election.

Trump Maintains that the case, and every other case against him, is part of a larger effort by Democrats to keep him from returning to the White House by weaponizing the justice system against him.

“You know why he complains?” Harris asked the crowd in Detroit, and then answered her own question, claiming that “the reality is” that “cheaters don’t like getting caught.” Arguing against Trump’s claims that he was tried unfairly, Harris noted that his legal team participated in jury and witness selection processes.

“Simply put,” Harris said, Trump “thinks he is above the law.” She then went on to state that the conviction “should be disqualifying” for someone seeking to become president of the United States. The vice president also dismissed the allegations that the Biden administration had a hand in trying to influence the prosecution of Trump as nothing more than “lies”

Even after the guilty verdict and with multiple other cases still ongoing against him, Trump remains high in projection polls and pulled in record-breaking amounts of campaign donations following the convictions. As for Harris, polls have shown she may be the least popular vice president in American history, and yet those who vote for President Joe Biden may, in fact, be voting for her.
